The Berwyn Park District offers a wide variety of family-oriented events throughout the year. The majority of our special events are held free of charge for our residents. We strive to bring you entertainment and help build life-long memories.
Letters to Santa

Are you asking Santa for that special gift for Christmas?

Make sure that Santa receives your letter by Friday, December 6th.

You will find special mailboxes at Komensky and Piper schools, Proksa, Freedom, Smirz and Hessler parks, as well as throughout the Berwyn Depot District.

These mailboxes will be installed by November 15, 2019.

IMPORTANT: Please be sure to include a legible return address and the name of your child's school or home address so that Santa can write back!

Polar Express Story Time Train

Take a train ride on the popular "Polar Express" by Chris Van Allsburg. The Berwyn Park District's Story Time Train will leave the Berwyn Train Station and go to the North Pole (DuPage Children's Museum). Depart and arrive at the Berwyn Train Station on Oak Park Ave.

This delightful story will be read on our journey to the North Pole, where Santa Clause will meet us for pictures and crafts!

All ages are welcome.

Registration start date: November 2 from 10:00am - 2:00pm at the Proksa Park Activity Center.

Price: $30 per person.

Ornament Decorating

Monday, Dec 9

All the fun of making your own ornament without all the mess of doing it at home! Our instructor will bring the ornaments to the park district, where they can be painted and created for teachers, relatives, or friends! Our instructor will take the ornament back to her kiln for sealing, and pick it up at the Park District in 2 weeks, just in time for Christmas! Ornaments will be ready to hung or be gifted! No experience or materials will be
required beforehand!

Candy Cane Hunt at Proksa Park

Saturday, Dec 14

The Berwyn Park District will host their 4th annual Candy Cane Hunt in Proksa Park this December! Get bundled up and come out to find all the candy canes you can in the Winter Wonderland of Proksa Park.

Hunt begins at 10am SHARP

Free for children ages 12 and under.
