Proksa Park Buttery Garden and Pond Renovations Completed
The Berwyn Park District Board of Commissioners held a ribbon cutting on September 18th for the Proksa Park Butterfly Garden and the Proksa Park Pond Renovations.

The Butterfly Garden was funded in part by a grant from the ComEd Green Region program and contains more than 1,533 pollinator plants along with interpretive signage and two large Monarch Butterfly benches.

The Proksa Park Pond Renovations were part of a matching grant from the Illinois Department of Natural Resources Open Space Land Acquisition and Development grant program.

Both projects not only improve the beauty of the park, but they improve the wildlife and environment that we live in. The ponds also increase storm water holding capacity within the park which will help lessen the burden combined sewers in the area and hopefully alleviate potential flooding.
