The Berwyn Park District offers a wide variety of family-oriented events throughout the year. The majority of our special events are held free of charge for our residents. We strive to bring you entertainment and help build life-long memories.

A1.      Discussion and Consideration of 2018 Tax Levy Ordinance O-18-04                                                 

The Committee reviewed and discussed the 2018 Tax Levy Ordinance that was reviewed by the attorney and recommends adopting the 2018 Tax Levy Ordinance O-18-04 as presented totaling $1,839,701.50.

 

            A2.      Discussion and Consideration of 2018 PTELL Resolution R-18-13                                                                 

The Committee discussed and reviewed the PTELL Resolution directing the Cook County Clerk to reduce the 2018 Tax Levy as required to be in compliance with state law and recommends adopting Resolution R-18-13 as presented.

 

A3.      Discussion and Consideration of appointment of David Petschke for reconciliation and audit preparation services

 

The Committee discussed and recommends contracting with David Petschke for reconciliation and audit preparation services based on $1,000 monthly based at $100/ hour @ 10 hours/ Consulting and $3,500 audit preparation/MD&A preparation.

A.   Discussion and Consideration of Resolution R-18-14 Establishing the Regular Board Meeting Schedule for 2019.

 

The Committee reviewed and recommends adopting Resolution R-18-14 establishing the tentative Regular Board Meeting Schedule for 2019 as required by the Illinois Open Meetings Act.

 

 

B.  Discussion and Consideration of Appointment of Regular and Alternate Representatives to WSSRA Board of Directors

 

The Committee recommends appointing Jeffrey S. Janda as regular representative and Michael Gianatasio as alternative representative to the WSSRA Board of Directors from January 1, 2019 through December 31, 2019.

 

C.  Discussion and Consideration of Resolution R-18-15 Authorizing

      Submission of Kaboom! Grant Applications

 

It is recommended that the Board adopt Resolution R-18-15 authorizing the submission of Kaboom! grant requests for Freedom and Sunshine Parks, respectively, and to authorize Executive Director Janda to manage the grants if successful.

 

 

D.  Discussion and Consideration of Request for Modification of Liquor License to include additional Berwyn Park District sites and facilities.

 

      It is recommended that the Board authorize executive Director Janda to make the necessary requests and filings to amend the Berwyn Park District Liquor License to include additional park district facilities and sites as both a cost savings for multiple events and to accommodate anticipated District needs.

Polar Express with BPD and Santa!

Saturday, Dec 1

Take a train ride on the popular “Polar Express” by Chris Van Allsburg.

BPD’s “Polar Express” will leave the Berwyn Train Station and go to the North Pole (Dupage Children’s Museum). This delightful story will be read on our journey and when we arrive Santa Claus will join us for pictures and crafts!

Registration is open now at Proksa Park Activity Center! Tickets are $30 each per person. The ticket includes train ticket, reading of Polar Express, access to Dupage Childrens Museum, commemorative hot cocoa mug, jingle bell to take home, and a craft with Santa Clause!

Trains for this date will meet at 8:30AM (SHARP) and 1:30PM (SHARP) at the Berwyn Train Stop (near Oak Park Ave)

Candy Cane Hunt

The Berwyn Park District will host the 3rd annual Candy Cane Hunt in Proksa Park this December! Get bundled up and come out to find all the candy canes you can in the Winter Wonderland of Proksa Park!
